SAVA’s General Manager Leads Panel at the Annual Border Security Expo And Is Recognized With This Year’s Excellence in Border Security Initiatives Award

Michael Braun, SAVA’s General Manager, recently participated in the 11th Annual Border Security Expo (BSE), which was held in San Antonio, Texas at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center from January 30 through February 1. The theme for this year’s conference was titled, “How Transnational Criminal Organizations Are Redefining Our Nation’s Borders.”


Mr. Braun, who has served on the BSE’s Advisory Board for five years, moderated the panel entitled, “Enforcement’s Role in Countering Our Nation’s Latest Drug Threats.” The panel’s participants represented the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations (ICE/HIS), the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and L.A. High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (L.A. HIDTA), and the Department of Defense, U.S. Southern Command’s Joint Interagency Task Force-South (JIATF-S) by a member of the U.S. Coast Guard.


Mr. Braun was recognized at this year’s Awards Luncheon on January 30th with the Annual Excellence in Border Security Initiatives Award, presented by fellow Advisory Board Member Mr. Jay Ahern, Principal at the Chertoff Group and former Acting Commissioner of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
